Oh dear a preety miserable summers day so far here - started off simply cloudy but dry with a humid feel, the rain set in about 10am and has been preety constant since, heavy at times, but not the torrential thundery outbreaks forecast. Indeed not one rumble of thunder.

Maxima held at 16 degrees which is slightly below average despite the southerly airstream we are in, so hardly a classic southerly plume event.

Hoping things will dry up by the evening, tomorrow may well deliver thundery showers, much greater chance thanks to solar input.

Temperature wise June has started on a very average note here, however, we've had a good run of very decent weekends since March with most of the unsettled wet weather reserved Monday-Friday, indeed I can't remember the last washout Sunday..

With the weather forecast effectively broken by 08:30 a rather uninspiring day followed. After the earlier heavy Thundery shower brought a false promise a dull cool morning followed. Then more heavier rain pushed through from lunch til two when it became light and patchy. The Sun finally coming out around 15:30.

Max temp 18C now 17.2C

Barometer 1011mb rising
