I’ve never noticed how much your camera sees the astronomical twilight much better the naked eye!

Just come for a walk down the lane, to watch the latest sunset of the year. 🌅
(Which for the record was at 21:36!)

This means as of tomorrow, we’re now loosing daylight at both ends of the day!

Soon be autumn folks. 🍃🍂🍁🍄🌾🌾🌾🎃

Despite tomorrow being the 25th June, we will have to wait until Friday before we can say we are closer to Christmas 24 than 23, if my calculations are correct! my calandar says today is midsummers day, but I don't know what it means..

 damianslaw Not quite!

As of Tuesday 25th June, the 25th December 2023 was 183 days ago and 25th December 2024 is 183 days away!

No notable difference with light/dark yet for me. But in 14 days time sunrise will be 10 minutes later than today. Sunset times still very stagnant with barely a minutes difference in that same timeframe.

Roll on Xmas! 🙂 And the ever-fascinating changing light...nature provides us with endlessly interesting phenomena. I'm ready for the evenings to slowly start drawing in and for darker nights. I say that as a reverse SAD sufferer...!

The fact it's light by about 4:30am at this time of year does my head in.

StretfordEnd1996 I worked out 183 days until 25 Dec 2024, and 25 Dec 2023 was 177 days ago.. but my maths may be wrong.

Nick L because i get up at 5 am everyday of the year and do an hours worth of walking before i go to work..its so dark in the mornings here for so long ..i just get a brief window of 2/3 months in the summer when its light ..its a real boost to my mental health.

Nick L Like @cheeky_monkey I'm an early bird too, up around 5am and do an early walk/run (more like 6am).  So early sunrise is great.

I suffer with SAD, but have found getting out in the morning, even when it is dark, helps a great deal.  I get to feeling  pysologicially trapped by the dark.  Going out, normally without a torch, and experiencing the dark, changes in weather, moonlight, starry nights, glow of the frost/snow etc, all helps.

Anyway, its mid summer, no need to think about the dark months!!!!

*Stormforce~beka* Yeah same with me. The light, the birds start twittering at half 3 and then start messing about with each other near my roof and guttering, all this tends to wake me up earlier than I would like.

Evening everyone. 😊

Well, two weeks ago it was the summer solstice, and I was out and about taking photos of the sunset, as the solstice happened so late in the evening, (21:50).

The photos I took were on 35mm, so as opposed to the usual digital images that were all so used to seeing these days…

Well, I’ve had the film developed, and for those who are remotely interested, this is what the sunset and solstice on the 20th June 2024 looks like in analog! 📸🌅🎞️

Plus also the full strawberry moon. 🌕

These were shot on Kodak Gold 200. 🎞️

I hope you like them? 😊

It is Monday the 8th of July 2024… And this evening is that momentous occasion where I do actually believe that it’s slightly darker at around 22:00 and onwards. 😅👍🏻

Not by much… But hey. 😊

I know that the mornings are getting darker… But I haven’t been on an earlies for a few weeks to witness that end of the day as yet.

 *Stormforce~beka* Evening @*Stormforce~beka*😊

I’m glad that someone else has noticed it slightly duskier than normal this evening.

Mind you… This coming Thursday will be three weeks since the solstice, and we’re now loosing, (not far off) two minutes of daylight per day!
