small storm this area, two flashes and an occasional rumble, radar shows them south but they appeared nw of me I thought.

Maybe developing quickly John, the storm I watched went from light blue on the radar to having a pink core producing lightning/thunder within half an hour.

Deadly black skies to the south of here with rain visibly falling also very dark to the east. These showers/storms seem very slow moving, think we're just too far north though in Derby to get anything!.

Rain radar is mental! Rain seems to be changing direction at a whim? Firstly looks like tracking nne, then ne, then east, hard to say which way things are heading!!

storms changing direction - south east movement to south west?

Is there a low pressure centre somewhere close to the North Midlands? This would explain the multi direction possibly?

Had lightning overhead 5 mins ago, got the camera set up but no captures yet.

Makes a change to be sat in the garden rather than battling with traffic to get to storms, happy days  :good:

Nice cloud building to the East of me. Doubt anything of it though.

Nothing here of course. Brewed a few for Dronfield and Chesterfield by the looks of it.

Small storm rumbling to my SE, seen a couple of flashes of lightning. Not covering a large area but v dark where the thunder is coming from.

Just clipping the edge of it here, Wind picked up gusting 18mph just and can see rain down in the Derwent Valley towards Chatsworth.

Just sat in the garden and watched a cell build right over us, cloud moving in all directions as it grew, then the heavy convective rain started falling and 3 flashes of lightning and long rumbling thunder. Then another cell builds to my N/NW and another couple of rumbles come from that one.

Had a brief torrential shower early this afternoon from a very small shower on radar, then afterwards some very large raindrops from a forming updraught. Sine then any intense showers have formed just after passing over or have been west of here. Lightning detected to the SE just too far away to hear.

Currently very light rain from a decaying shower, some nice towering cumulus to the east, and can see anvils from the storm near Cardiff to the north.. not bad.Nothing much upwind of here.
