Good. It has a been something resembling summer. Here in the NW our averages don't resemble anything like a "summer" I could care to mention, but this July has seen an average high over 20 degrees, less than 50mm of rain, and more than 200 hours of sun. That is impressive for us. Of course, winter starts the day after tomorrow, in August, and quite normally, the conditions have soured just in time, with a biting subarctic chilblain inducing 16°C and wind, and drizzle. What a shame that August must "poop in the pie" of a generally pleasant summer so far...

Will have to compare that to local records when they are released,i find it a bit of a surprise it is so high!!!

the final sentence is pretty daft is it not folk?

Or maybe he's as sensitive to low temperatures as I am to warmth - but I do agree that he's being a little melodramatic.

To be fair to Hector, in the NW the last few days of July were only average, today the start of August is dreadful and the charts for the early part of this month look poor.
