    Persisant heavy rain in Belfast.

The models had been predicting the rain would impact Scotland more, however, it appears to be further West and Eastern Counties of Northern Ireland is bearing the brunt.

Already standing water on the roads and with the rain possibly lasting all day, a would expect some news worthy flooding reports.

Find it quite unusual looking at the synoptics of today's weather that here in Essex we still manage to get up to 24.8c!! - in summers gone by we would have never had maxes that high. Brisk WSW as well. Incredible consistency of warm to very warm days over nearly the last month.

All that lovely rain milling around over the UK, but entirely predictably we stayed bone dry. Ridiculous. Y'know I could fall into the ocean and come out dry.

Probably the most feeble 'breakdown' ever here. An hour of rain at lunchtime. Then another beautifully sunny afternoon and evening, up to 24C. Is this really the worst its going to get here for another week?

The story of the summer so far. I'm going on a classic vehicle rally tomorrow - perhaps that is the day, despite all expectations, that the rains will come. Ah who cares, I'll still enjoy it,assuming it's not cancelled....
