Just saw this. Supposedly lowest August temperature for Anglia region was -4.5c in 1973. Anyone know anything about how this happened? Google is no help.

seems to just say the UK that -4.5, assuming Scotland somewhere

Coming up to the 50 year anniversary of the coldest UK August temperature of -4.5C in Lagganlia, Cairngorms, night of the 21st.

Interesting to also note the contrast with the heat a week prior. 32.1C in Southampton, which I believe was the warmest temperature of that whole year. 26.9C also in Lagganlia.
