Tropical Cyclone 05B has formed in the south central Bay of Bengal. Winds are at 35kts. THe circulation is quite broad and the convection is not very persistant due to moderate shear and dry air plaguing the system. JTWC does forecast some modest intensification as 05B heads westwards on the south side of ridging to the north. Landfall is expected in southeastern India in 2-3 days.

05B has been meandering in situ for the last 24hrs, but has finally began slowly tracking to the west. Of more significance however, is the fact that shear and dry air have completely overwhelmed the system. Just a few patchy cells of convection remain near the broad but defined LLCC. Accordingly, JTWC have reduced 05B's winds to 25kts and declared it a remnant low. The low does have some potential to redevelop into a tropical cyclone before landfall in about 36hrs time. Conditions are not expected to become overly favourable for this to occur however.

Could anyone enlighten me as to the current conditions in Genoa, Italy. I know they have hd flood nd incredible rainfall recently. My daughters is being sent there tidy to work for week which I find a bit irresponsible after recent news reports. I can't seem to find out the current situation and the next few days.

This question might be better posted in a new topic in the Extreme Weather Worldwide forum Lee, you will probably get a better response there :)
