Didn't sound good on Look North, mostly rain away from the hills according to paul hudson.

yes its not looking good now is it. Weather warning wasnt even mentioned on the main BBC news and Paul Hudson has basicaly laughed at it on Look North.

Who knows though, I didnt think id wake up to a covering of snow this morning, so its a now-cast scenario isnt it. We may wake up to it, we may not. Rather frustrating but as we know, snow is very difficult to forecast, especialy in these circumstances.

Fingers crossed :)

Who cares what Paul Hudson says, he's made loads of blunders in the past.

I'd rather he didn't say anything tbh.

he has, but similar to Ian F on the model thread, Paul or whoever is doing the forecast that evening must have a chat with METO before they put it together.

I know its not the end of the world, I just like it when its green accross the board lol

absolutely, i havent. Even now, netweather type radar is showing sleet over the pennines and snow just above Bradford, so I think well see some. Cold air isnt supposed to cut in yet I dont think fully so its a good start already :)

Well, it's already 3C here and falling - forecasts said it would be 5C at this time. Certainly a good sign - but I suspect 850hpa temps will be most important. It will depend on whether the colder air can 'undercut' the precipitation, so to speak.

Sudden rapid drop in temps -05c in the last 15 minutes or so. Still to high at 3.3C in the right direction. :)

The village will be 183m however the camera is on the outskirts so I found the exact location and then used earthtools.org to find its elevation, currently 0.9c there. Keeping an eye on what happens when it reaches the NY moors, if it involves white flakes Im jumping in the car lol!

Still dropping slowly here in Hull, might be waiting for the milder air but there hasn't been much warming at all.

Here's my snow map by the way.

Might be a sign that the colder air is further south than we envisaged. :)

Sleety hear but really lacking in intensity as evident on the radar struggling to make it past the pennines.

No problem getting over hills down here, it's bouncing here in South Yorks.
