Looking specifically at the start of this winter is very interesting because it came on abruptly, it must have been a real shock.

A very cold pool of air dragged across the UK as the trough of low pressure sank southwards.

It went from very mild to bitter cold within a week.

Camden Square recorded a maximum of 14.5C on the 23rd, recorded a minimum of -6.2C on the 29th

Maidstone: 14.6C on 23rd, -8.0C on 29th

Tenbury: 15.9C on 23rd, -5.7C on 30th

wonder what the AO was predicted to do along with NAO, ENSO SAI etc etc?
