Thanks for all your efforts on this monumental task once again, I will print out and have a read through, I hope it goes well and that somewhere within it, you have allowed for a bit of snow IMBY.  :drinks:

Thank you to you both for your huge effort. I am certainly an enthusiastic amature and i very much enjoyed reading it!

It sounds very promising, and whichever theory you look at, they all point to higher level blocking dont they, so fingers crossed. Strength in numbers it seems this year towards some cold :)

Its amazing to think that most of the UK hasnt seen snow now for 21 months, so lets hope our wait is nearly over :D

Thanks again and good luck with the forecast

Chris

Thanks so much!

Had a quick read and it's very well explained and easily digestible even for someone like me who hasn't studied meteorology outside of it being a hobby. So kudos to the team.

Looks like we could have a good winter!

Thanks for the hard work by the two contributors - many hours have undoubtedly gone into this.

It'll be fascinating to see how close this is to whatever evolves. :)

Thanks so much for putting in so much work to explain what is a very complex topic in a way that even I can understand - I've learnt a huge amount from that forecast - and obviously am very much liking it too!

ALL THE BEST!!!

I was reading through and thinking they were going to almost rule out a cold feb, and we were going to only have one shot (Early jan) but it looks like at least a good quality month and a half minimum of model watching ahead anyway, with the possibility of more, first interesting model watching December since 2010.

Great work!

Seems to be slightly saying the opposite to the Meto outlook and other LRFs, so will be interesting come March time who turns out to be more accurate.

A really interesting read, many thanks for this.

All I know is that this winter cannot possibly be worse than last years, where for the 1st time in my entire life I did not see a single snowflake!!

Many thanks for the hard work Ed and Tony.

Shouldn't be many complaints from me if this comes off!

Thankyou for this. sounds promising....

I'd be very intrigued to read their winter forecast predictions of winter 2009 - 2010 and winter 2013 - 2014 to see how accurate they were before I get my hopes up.....Anyone?

I think it is well known around here that i don't care too much for LRF's / Seasonal Forecast's. However, a lot of hard work, time and effort has obviously been put into this Winter forecast, so credit where credit is due.

Let's hope you're proven right and we all see some snow at some point this Winter. We snow starved fans certainly deserve it.

Best of luck to you.

Newspaper headlines are all hocus-pocus at the best of times I'm afraid.

Fantastic read guys, very easy to understand for those not up to speed with atmospheric conditions which may play a role in shaping our weather.
