Ground frost cleared last evening as cloud increased from the west, with temperatures rising in to the mild category before midnight. Around dawn a short spell of light to moderate rain, has now stopped and cloud breaks appearing at observation.

After a mild start it soon cooled down. Isolated light showers but more heavy on top with some sleet. The rain shadow effect working very well. The sleet was falling on my slow drive back from Ladybower this morning.

For the record it alerted here on Friday, heavy precip but sleet nonetheless.

Sunny at first this morning but showers arrived from the west by 1030, initially of rain, and then of sleet, soft hail and wet snow during the afternoon. The showers were never long enough or heavy enough for any snow to settle although there were a few frozen flakes lying in the grass at 1800.
