Most of the night was dry and cloudy but rain arrived by 0630 and there was an hour or so of rain, briefly heavy, before a clearance arrived from the north west.

Currently it's dry and sunny but quite windy.

 

At 0900.

After a mild start it soon cooled down. Isolated light showers but more heavy on top with some sleet. The rain shadow effect working very well. The sleet was falling on my slow drive back from Ladybower this morning.

Light showers during this afternoon as they struggled to get over the Pennines. Sunny spells no dark and dry with a good wind chill.

Sunny at first this morning but showers arrived from the west by 1030, initially of rain, and then of sleet, soft hail and wet snow during the afternoon. The showers were never long enough or heavy enough for any snow to settle although there were a few frozen flakes lying in the grass at 1800.

Cold and frosty overnight with a min of 0 C. Heavy snow showers throughout the day with a few cms, max temperature of 2.1 C

Plus there was thundersnow today too.
