Our first snow since 2013 has finally arrived - realistically unlikely to be more than a flurry [Edit - already turning sleety after only a couple of minutes].  Current conditions: overcast with light snow, 0.6 deg C after an overnight minimum of -1.4.

Clear and frosty to just after midnight. Heavy snow 0130 to 0145 deposited over 1cm also raising temperatures above 0c, further wintry mix showers through the night, clear breaks and slight frost, a light variable to SW breeze.

Sunny intervals this morning, cloudier afternoon with some light rain and ice pellet showers. Rather cold, slow thaw of lying snow so that now only a patchy (less than 30%) thin slushy cover remains. Light to moderate SW breeze.
