Talking of Pileus, a stunning example taken in the Jura on 13th May.. Picture by Kevin Moroy.

Def lenticular clouds, the rough looking cu underneath is more than likely rotor cu, often associated with lee waves, if you did a time lapse the Lennies would pretty much stay in the same place and the cu under them would be seen to form, roll and then dissipate with a constant supply of fresh cloud forming on the windward edge. Turbulent airflow under the laminar airflow (where the lenticulars are)

As a glider pilot lenticulars are my favorite for of lift, found on the windward side of the cloud, simply magic to be amongst them and witness mother nature at her best, the views from above are simply stunning too!

More this morning over Snowdon and mountains of NW Snowdonia.

Is this a lenticular cloud? There were lots of them over Oxfordshire today, and we have no mountains.

Looks like a possible nice formation over Snowdon this morning as seen from the webcam (Lodge Dinorwig).
