Bedroom 25.5c outside 20.5c at almost midnight. So far ok.. Nice breeze on too should help air the place out a bit before sleeping. Only need a little air movement and it's all ok.

Simple and cheap air con

2 bottles (I use 2x2 pint plastic milk ones from any supermarket/shop), fill with water, freeze them.

Stand the frozen bottles a few inches apart and place a fan behind them so that it blows air through and around them in your direction.

May want to stand the bottles on something like a tray to collect any condensation/melt though.

I've seen a more complicated version of this using a cheap bucket full of chunks of ice and a fan fitted in the lid.

The bucket then has two or three holes in the side to direct a jet of really cold air into the room as required.

Just creating air movement makes a big difference even without cooling.

- either by through draught or fan if there's no wind.
