I have to say that today doesnt seem right for the forecast from day or so ago.

Storms yes then no then yes.

The supposed cold front moving eastwards doesnt seem to be happening.

I think Harry's called it right: next to nothing, in our region... :sorry:  :sorry:

Look at the MO radar chart and it looks well impressive but all the storms just vanish apart from possibly sliding up the east of kent, essex and suffolk.

Temperatures are already in the low 20s and rising quite quickly in Essex - a cloudless day would probably see them touching 30C by the afternoon, but I think that'll get thwarted judging by the radar!

Lauren this impending disjointed blob could provide some comfort?

If it could hold off until I'm back from work so I can enjoy the view, that would be fab.

My worry is that reports from the South Coast is that it's not doing much at all, nothing heavy and no thunder

Got some big drop falling now, the first one of the day. But not heavy.

Not surprising there is no energy to tap into still would not rule out T&L sporadically.

Regarding Friday....:)

Last night was very uncomfortable. My poor kids could not sleep in there room as it was like an oven. They managed to sleep downstairs. It was still 30c here at 8:30pm.

This morning at 7:30 it was 18c, it has now gone up to 20.8c and cloudy. But it feels a lot cooler outside. Current humidity is 58%

Ill add to this:

From Paul over in the convective thread:

Estofex already issuing a Level 2 for just South of the Uk is a good thing, could be some intense Supercells over NE France and Benelux, what tends to happen with these is they create their own cold pools aloft which promotes MCS Initiation, now if that can be in a favourable position eg stretch across to the Brest Peninsula then expect a North moving MCS To affect us overnight Friday into Saturday morning, I am pretty sure when Estofex update tonight the Day 1 for Friday will include a Level 1 over the Uk for said MCS Moving North at the end of that forecast period (eg tomorrow evening)

You know the big storm we had that Friday Night last July? Can you remember what level if any http://www.estofex.org/ issued then for us?

I seem to remember that forecast being a level 1 for most of the south/south east, but a small more certain level 2 blob from Brighton up to London.

Tropical, East Anglia the hot spots for today 26c in Norwich I think another 30c day is a possibility. With another possible on Friday and Saturday making it 5 days in a row of 30c plus it is horrid in London.
