Same here looking to my NW (the cell over Formby). The lightning must be very high up. I remember seeing a lot of this when I was in northern Australia (Darwin & the Kimberley).

A very nice cell is developing south of Manchester according to the radar.

Yeah a few cloud to cloud flashes... Very distant rumbles but it's just started to rain here

Edit... Not very distant anymore huge flash followed by big rumble too

The storms have moved north of Manchester now.

Lightning was less frequent (one every minute or so, rather than every other few seconds as the other night) this little cluster pulling away to the north now.  Could be more developments from the south later on in the night..
