Interesting how there's a gap in the precipitation just for us!! Still hearing thunder from that heavy pulse just to the east though.

Rumbles of thunder every minute or so here.

Pretty good considering you were pessimistic earlier in the day.

Been on a long dog walk , ominous TCu to my South East has produced about a dozen rumbles so ive entered my fith day in a row with a storm !!!.

You have done so well!

Yeah not bad, all from that area that passed to the east. We're relatively dry here with only the odd spot of rain.

Yes, a cell developed all of a sudden.

You should get my heavy rain shortly as it is moving eastwards.

Right on cue heavens have opened and a nice crack of thunder after all had gone quiet. Edited by James M

That's nice.

Sadly things are drying up to my west.

Now cleared from the South-west. Liverpool ATIS currently reporting 16C.  Plenty of towering Cu in view but appear innocuous and without rain shadows. Light breeze F1

Didn't get much from the earlier storm it seemed to part in the middle and skirt round to the east and north of me.  This coming Thursday morning we could be waking up to temperatures 20c lower than they were a week ago! ... much more comfortable for sleeping though.

A fresh feeling day, we managed to stay dry for much longer than I had anticipated with the rain holding off until around 3pm. A sunny/bright decent morning, clouded over around lunchtime but fairly respectable temps of 18/19 degrees, however, once the rain arrived temps dropped and after it cleared around 7pm a marked drop to just 12 degrees making for a disappointing end to the day - very unsummer like with coats and jackets at the ready.

A cool few days ahead, notably so mid week with chilly nights expected for July and supressed daytime maxima mid teens at best a few degrees below July average, quite a turnaround from last Wednesday!

Much nicer today, a nice fresh feel to the weather. 13.5 at the moment and could see my breath this morning. Rain later and I'm looking forward to that. Love a bit of rain. May be a little thunder and lightning over the next few days.

The rain is losing intensity as it comes further east.  Fairly heavy in North Wales & Chester and then by the time it reaches here, it's just a few drops in the air.  Not complaining this time, that will come in the winter when that rain is snow, and a similar situation comes about.

Got soaked coming back from the dentist before. 14C and rain is already bad enough... but midweek looks absolutely dreadful.

Thunder here. That's 4 days of thunder so far this July. Already tied with my thundriest month on record (July 2013), going back to January 2010.

It just shows how poor this area has been for thunder in the last few years.

My mate has just text me and told me that Failsworth Metrolink stop, which I used everyday for since it opened to go to school/college, was struck by lightning a few minutes ago, when that storm went over. I can even see it on the lightning detector!

Proving once again that our region does well for thunder under a relatively cool set up!  :D

These south-westerly set-ups showery aren't actually too bad, to be honest. It certainly beats drab, cold, boring north-westerlies.

Northwesterlies are good for wintry thundery showers when the uppers are conducive. The colder the uppers the better for that.
