Hi all,

I rarely start a thread but last night at around 9.30 pm my husband and I

both witnessed the strangest thing in the night sky.

He called me to rush out to see the "ISS passing over" .

I could clearly see the bright white light travelling at a steady velocity

horizontally towards the south-east.

I remarked, that it looked a little lower and more southwards than usual .

Then, we saw a matching light rising completely vertical.

Oh I said, they must be Chinese lanterns.

But an amazing thing happened. When near to each other they speeded up,

united for a split second without any noticeable impact as such, and then whizzed off

away from us in different directions.

We watched them fade with distance.

What an earth would this be !?

It seemed especially weird and wonderful as only hours earlier my husbands dear

father had passed away ..

We can't find any other sightings of this event.

UFO? I've seen one before myself it was illuminating orange orb travelling over skies of London travelling at crazy speeds faster than any aircraft. It does make me wonder how little we know...

Thank you Ed Stone and Daniel  :)

Since no-one else seems to have seen this particular event, guess it will remain a UFO mystery !

About 20 years' back, I saw a black triangular thing directly overhead: It could have been a Vulcan Bomber or a Stealth Bomber, I suppose; but why would one of those hover above an isolated Highlands hamlet? Then again, why would an alien spacecraft - after having travelled God-knows how many lightyears - hover over an isolated Highlands hamlet? :cc_confused:

Personally, I suspect the UK and US military...

Yes, many strange sightings in the night skies are hard to fathom !

I'm not really a believer in alien crafts visiting Earth .. and do look for explanations such as

secret military ops. and natural phenomena.

My two moving lights behaved so strangely though .. different directions of movement, varying speeds, uniting,

whizzing off .. has me stumped.

So it's down to US military, UK military or space-aliens, then? :D

Just two weeks ago I saw a low flying, black, triangular object in the night sky, it had a light on it. The UFO was flying in circular motions which made it look like it was out of control. Maybe the pilot was hissed :shok: but seriously, I thought I was seeing things so called my brother out and he thought WTF, when he saw it too. Maybe aliens were spying on you, maybe they were thinking of kidnapping you and probing you Ed. :shok:

Going a little further back, I saw lights behaving like you described BB, It was all very fascinating until one of the lights stopped right above me. I ran in and locked the door when that happened...... :help:
