:D at the manhole one-there is one in Westbury that is notorious for becoming a water feature in such conditions :D

Those clouds set ups are incredible, just like the wavy/lumpy skies we had here but just in lightish showers on Monday 8)

I saw something similar, but the frontal mammatus cloud looked darker. In fact, an inky black. Few big drops of rain from that, then 2+ hours of heavy rain that followed behind it.

I admit that I was a tad disappointed at what looked like a rather severe storm on the radar, but in reality was a weakly electrified storm cell, compared to London, (As per usual! ) the best of the worst hit them.

But I'd rather them not have happen at all given the fact that people were hurt during the process, especially kids. :D

Makes you think though that London traffic becomes severely disrupted by flash flooding, and they wish to host the 2012 Olympics? (HA!! RIGHT!!) Hmmm I think this be a matter discussed nearer the time.

But that said, some excellent pics there Thunder. :D Look very similar to my Southern/SouthEastern skyline at about 5:45pm yesterday.

Phil.

Nice photos and yes that wavy very structured and almost supercell looking clouds all drifted towards me too an amazing rounded edge to it i thought wow!! then it turned into a damp squib here as it just billowed away to my west :-x all at the very last minute....

I certainly wouldn't like to have be standing at a bus stop that evening :D :-o

That's actually the "centre" of the storm.... i'd already past through the front of it, then ironically enuff it stopped raining until I got to that point (distance of about 3 miles).

i'm gong to have a go @ digitising my video later today. Great things Dashboard mounts aint they :D

Great photos. One hell of downpour here last night accompanied by some good lightning, can't say the thunder was impressive. Sounded as if it couldn't be bothered (long rumbling drone - like grandma complaining)

I can confirm that the storm was pretty amazing. Lots of lightning and torrential rainfall and the cloud formations were ace :D

Silly me just realising that the picture of the overflowing drain is right near my house. I was sheltering in the shop whilst the council were taking pictures of it. Quite amazing. very suprised that the pictures got on here :-o By the way i don't live on that street, my place is about 2 streets from it.
