Should be looking at the first air frost by now but but have got nowhere close with 2.3C the low so far :nonono: Just pathetic given the high pressure and the fact that May managed -1.9C and June +1.9C with far shorter nights.

The earliest first frost I've had, in 11 years, was on 16th October 2012 which, historically, would have been about the normal date. Shows what a joke autumn's have become but even many recent years have seen lower than 2C by now despite being far cloudier, windier and low pressure dominated.

Many nights the temperature is just flat-lining even though it's clear and little wind. It's just ridiculously boring.

No frost around here so far this season.

It was colder late May/early June.

The coldest ive recorded so far this season was 3.3c one morning last week.

Havent recorded an air frost in autumn since 2012 although did come close on several occasions the last 2 novembers.

In my neck of the woods overall over the last number of years autumn has become almost an air frost free season sadly.

Oh dear its been a month since this thread has seen any activity - a clear indication of just how mild the past 4 weeks have been, with no chance of even a ground frost for many in that time period...

Alas most places have a significant chance they will by Sunday have seen there first ground frost at least and for many inland areas there first air frost. Not expecting any particularly low temps but highland valley locations could easily go below -5 degrees on Sat eve under clearing skies and lighter winds.

Here we may even see 3 air frosts in a row Fri-Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing some activity in this thread over the coming days..

Should finally drop below zero at the weekend which will be the second latest date in my 11 year records. Only 2011 was later when it didn't happen until 2 December.

Even then it had been down to 0.8C twice by now. The current low of 1.6C is just incredulous. Absolutely awful and only 0.3C cooler than June managed  :wallbash:

Richard, not the first out our way but it dropped to a surprise -0.4C last night, with a slight frost on the grass & car windscreens. The low was forecast as 4C. It was up to 1C by 9am but was the same through Kintore as I drove to work so not just localised in Kemnay.

Lets hope you do see your first air frost of the season this weekend, but despite it expected to feel bitterly cold, there's really very little diurnal variation in temperature being forecast. If you are really unfortunate you could see the temperature hover just above freezing for the next 2 days

Looks like a frosty start on Sunday and Monday here. Other than 05th November last year, the same Monday last November brought a heavy frost.

I think I will record the first air frost of the season either Sunday morning or Monday morning or both. This is pityful compared to the norm but better than last year.

-4.7c here this morning! Final confirmation that I live in a slight frost hollow with areas of higher heights around me.

This temp is already colder than anything recorded last winter!

May just achieve an air frost here tonight, funnily enough on the same night of the first air frost last year (I checked my records and in fact I just missed one on November 06th 2014). -01.2C needs to be beaten from this Monday last year, and -02.5 to beat last November's minimum.

Currently 01.8C.

My first recorded air frost last night -1.1 but then the temperature shot up quite quickly after midnight and the morning is frost free.

Cloudy and a temp of 5.6 this morning that's a big change from the evening.

Coldest November air frost since 2010 made -1.4c

Shows how poor November has been for cold nights since the record breaking cold end of 2010 a freaky year.

There was an air frost just in 2012 at -0.1c

Edit..
