If those figures are correct we could well record an above average month.

No doubt a bit more can be taken off for corrections however.

So far I'm quite happy with my 10.6c estimate. :)

Sunny Sheffield still at 10.2C mild nights offset by cool days. This is the average for the month for us and looking like the likely landing point either way although I suspect slightly higher.

Minimum today of 9.1C, while maxima look like reaching about 14C, so remaining on 11.1C on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

11.1C to the 20th (10.4: +0.6)
11.1C to the 21st (12.3: +2.7)
11.2C to the 22nd (12.0: +2.1)
11.1C to the 23rd (9.7: +0.1)
11.1C to the 24th (11.4: +2.0)
11.0C to the 25th (8.4: -1.0)
10.9C to the 26th (8.1: -1.5)
10.8C to the 27th (7.5: -2.3)
10.7C to the 28th (9.0: -0.8]

A relatively mild few days coming up, before turning cool again in FI. I think we can narrow the finishing range before corrections down to about 9.8C to 11.5C, and around 9.4C to 11.5C after corrections. Best guess' at this stage are probably in the low 10s.

looking like everything will cancel out so staying the same. We've got a chance of a cold night coming up which may knock sunny Sheffield down to 10.1C

With 10.2c being my guess, would love to hit the nail on the head 2 months running.

Minimum today of 8.3C, while maxima look like reaching close to 17C, so an increase to 11.2C is likely on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

11.2C to the 22nd (12.3: +2.4)
11.2C to the 23rd (9.9: +0.3)
11.1C to the 24th (11.0: +1.6)
11.1C to the 25th (8.8: -0.6)
11.1C to the 26th (11.4: +1.8]
11.2C to the 27th (13.4: +3.6)
11.2C to the 28th (12.8: +3.0)
11.2C to the 29th (11.9: +3.0)
11.2C to the 30th (9.5: +0.3)

Big switch around from the GFS (guess that's why it's called FI), now going for a very mild end to the month, possibly finishing above the 81-10 average, even after corrections. The likely finishing range has become milder so, about 10.5C to 11.4C before corrections, and 10.1C to 11.4C after corrections. Mid to high 10s now looking best, IMO.

Minimum today of 11.1C (2nd mildest of the month), with maxima likely to be in the low 14s, so an increase to 11.2C is likely on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

11.2C to the 23rd (10.4: +0.8]
11.2C to the 24th (11.3: +1.9)
11.1C to the 25th (9.4: +0.0)
11.1C to the 26th (10.7: +1.1)
11.2C to the 27th (12.8: +3.0)
11.2C to the 28th (12.6: +2.8]
11.2C to the 29th (12.2: +3.3)
11.2C to the 30th (10.7: +1.5)
11.2C to the 31st (9.3: +0.0)

The prediction of a mild end to the month continues, with the chances of remaining above the 81-10 average growing. Seems as though the 10.9C rolling average on the 3rd could be the low point of the month, though the forecast for the last few days could still turn much colder and change this.

Sunny Sheffield up to 10.4C a bit of an Indian summer to come by the looks of it. I think sunny Sheffield will end around 10.6C to 10.8C ending the run of cool months.

Looking like quite a mild end to the month, but nothing especially mild. However, enough probably to prevent a below average month, still it will continue the run of near average months we have seen this year.

Late October is notoriously an unsettled period, settled high pressure set ups have a struggle to set up shop..

Does that mean it's bang on the 60-10 average too?
