Hi, I don't know if it has been shared on here before.

But the BBC have launched a new weather observation site.

Sadly can't see it as the registration process is broken. For some reason it truncated the email address I registered with and when I put the correct one in it says it's already registered.

Reload the cache. That might help.

Anybody know if there's a feedback form? The only negative I have is that the map is way too small and doesn't allow scrolling.

Very nice addition this. Will use this regularly I think. :)

IMO, it's fine if you have a home weather station, as you can upload actual data, but most of us (who lack such a system) are only going to be able to provide vague observations (cloudy, foggy, rain etc.), which I don't think is of much use.  I also don't know whether the input is used by the Met Office or BBC forecasters or whether it's just social media.

You can always go on Wunderground to find your nearest amateur station, or if you have a Met station nearby, use that. Amateur stations are of varying accuracy, but some are reliable and often highly accurate. The ones you need to watch out for are those that post highs of 34C when everywhere else is 24C.

I do use Wunderground in order to ascertain my local conditions - I'm referring to uploading information to this new site.
