The Mostly Weather Podcast EP1 - Weather forecasting through time

Recommended Posts

Good Morning Netweather Forumites,

We are the team behind Mostly Weather, a new podcast from the Met Office – which has just launched.

In each episode we will be investigating the stats, science, stories, history and more behind our chosen weather or climate related topic.

Our team is made up weather enthusiasts from here at the Met Office who just love nothing more than a ramble about weather.  They will be joined each month by guests from within the organisation but also from across the wider world of weather and climate.

The topic for the first episode is weather forecasting through time. In the episode we uncover some interesting facts from the history of forecasting, with help from our special guest Catherine from the Met Office archives – like the revelation that weather forecasting was once illegal under the sorcery act!

You can find the first two episodes on iTunes here -  https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/mostly-weather/id1066960373?mt=2 - as well as on the podcast app.

For android users it is also available on most of the major podcast apps, including TuneIn radio and Pocketcasts. For none podcast fans, you can listen by visiting www.metoffice.gov.uk/mostly-weather and clicking on the links to each episode, within which you will find embedded Soundcloud players.

If you have any questions, feedback or suggestions for future episodes, then you can email us at mostlyweather@metoffice.gov.uk
