    Heavy Hail Shower now passed after dumping 1.7mm in a few minutes. Now clear spells and 4.4c 15mph

    Rain, heavy at times, continued well into yesterday evening before clearing. A few sharp showers followed during the early hours but there were also lengthy clear spells.

    Dry and sunnny at the moment after light showers earlier this morning.

    A very wet 24 hours with 22.2 mm of rain. Further rain last night, moderate and heavy at times, turning windy again. The early hours saw another spell of heavy rain accompanied by squally winds. Clearance arrived before dawn. Sunny so far this morning.

    Moderate sometimes heavy rain cleared before midnight to leave just a few showers with long clear intervals towards dawn. A low of 3.2c

    Just noticed the Met has yellow weather warnings (snow) out for most areas of Scotland, NE, NW England and NI.

    A mild day once again no surprises there with temperatures higher than forecast. A sunny morning gave way to a cloudy afternoon and a brief heavy shower. Breezy at times once again

    A day of comparative calm back in Reading after a few days in Ireland including an interesting drive back to Cork airport dodging the floods in the wake of Storm Frank.  Dry and breezy with sunny spells, showery rain after dark.  Maximum 10.9, minimum 7.0.  Wind moderate S.

    A dry and sunny morning and early afternoon. Cloud increased from about 1400 and there was a heavy and very squally shower of rain, then hail and sleet, between 1545 and 1615. Further showers of sleet followed by early evening.

    Hail shower early hours, with clear spells either side. Sunny morning, before heavy downpour early afternoon. Front passed through 4:30pm. Clear skies since. Wind has now eased. Currently 2.9c, Wind 8mph SE 

    High- 8.9c. Low- 2.9c.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
