watching some explosive convection here in MK, moving off to the north towards northamptonshire border. towers sprung up to enormous hieghts within 10mins or so. now beginning to cap off and develop large anvils. these seem to be forming at the back of the towers instead of at the front. doers this mean there is good shear in the upper wind profile??? :?:

Not wanting to sound like a persistent moaner in the "Current Conditions" thread, I will put a more positive light on today's conditions.

Weather: Quite amazing, really. We have a good deal of brightness, in that instead of seeing very dark grey cloud this morning, we now have dark grey cloud. And we have the sight of sea fog to savour.

Temperatures: Remarkable, with the residents of my home village basking in a sweltering 15C (59F)
