Last chase day probably for the tours for 2016 with not much on offer over the next few days after this and its an enhanced risk for supercells and storms in extreme Montana and maybe even Canada ?

Will be making our way back towards Colorado tomorrow. Its been a strange old season this one

    Regards

Agreed Paul, though I can't say with confidence whether the super El Niño had any influence, something obviously affected the distribution and timing of severe this year. The highlight IMO being the sparsity of front range activity which normally peaks early June. Rather than an even distribution of tornados we've seen maybe two distinct short bursts, centering around the OK outbreak early May and the Kansas crunchers late May which I was 'lucky' enough to experience (using the term carefully and accepting that by some miracle neither the Dodge City multiplex or the Solomon EF4 resulted in fatalities).

Still it's what makes this business so fascinating  - it's like a box of chocolates and all that!

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
