    Hi,

With some software and apps eg PYKL, GR products & WSV3 you can edit the radar reflectivity palette by changing it to a text file then changing the values to suit your own preference for each dB return range.

Would it be possible to somehow be able to do this with the Net Weather Storm app?

    Tim

Hi Tim, the UK radar isn't the same as the US doppler ones, so it doesn't work in that way. We do have a couple of alternative scales on the Netweather Extra radar, which will be available on an app soon :)

Ok thanks Paul. I've read they are in the process of changing them to dual polarisation http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/water/radarimprovements so I assume once that's done then we should be able to have they same osrt of data that the US does? It would be really good to then be able to have something like PYKL/GR Level 3 for the UK.

I would think we will. but I'd not expect it in the short/medium term - it'll probably be a few more years until the whole network is upgraded, then however long it takes beyond that.

Slightly off topic, but is the app supposed to crash if there's no internet connection?
