Cloudy and muggy, boring weather, although i'm having a mummy fuss about the start of school on Thursday , it could thunder and I wouldn't notice.

Well the temperature reached 24C in some sunny spells during the latter part of the morning, unfortunately the cloud rolled back in and it was mostly cloudy for the rest of the day. Hopefully tomorrow should be better as we get a continental feed.

The highest temperatures around 26/27C (This was reached across the north east today) again but more widespread than todays predictions suggesting we will see more broken cloud tomorrow. No guarantees though.

Well had drizzle all day on Monday, Warm with mostly cloud yesterday, although some breaks did appear at times. Today there is a mist, but I can already see blue through it. Might be a better day for cloud amounts, fingers crossed.

^ Yes, hopefully a better day for cloud amounts for the Region @alexisj9. I think "eventually" might be the right way to describe this though! The satellite image shows the clearance creeping up from the south, but the Met Office/Beeb graphics this morning were a bit disappointing, suggesting the north of the Region might not see the clear skies arrive until later this afternoon.

It will be interesting to see what the Region's highest temp reaches today - earlier forecasts of 28C seem to have been nudged down, although NMM still going for 27C and GFS 26C. And hopefully with less humidity that will mean a beautiful Sept day for some lucky locations!

(Footnote: I was going to post the latest satellite image, but there appears to be a technical problem either with Netweather or my browser this morning. Can't get emoticons to work either).

Light drizzle in the air here in Hertfordshire and very grey and dull.

But at least its warm and not chucking it down with rain. Did not feel the humidity at all last night, infact it was pretty comfortable. You can tell its September and not July.

Is this cloud ever going to clear away? So much for a summery week lol! At least it's warm though.

I know the feeling....mucky grey day here too. I'd rather take 17c and sunshine over 24c and grey skies any day.

Has been a while since a spell of solidly cloudless skies. There has been a tendency to have them forecast in the longer term only for them to be downgraded to sunny spells nearer the time.

It's ridiculous! Forecasts just a few days ago were for a good 4 days of warm sunshine. Haven't seen any sun for 4 days lol, today being the 5th so far.

Blue skies have arrived.
As has the slightly less humid air.

Did anyone else watch the Isle of Grain chimney get blown up, pretty good shockwave.
The sea front at Southend was rammed with people watching.

Biggest problem at the moment is the humid air if the air was drier we'd be seeing more in the way of sunshine

Overcast all day here, but somehow it is 24C outside. You can see what a difference the sun makes, Gravesend has the highest temperature at 29C and rising.

Mine are no more :( we found eggs in the back of the greenhouse and they looked very much like snake eggs or slug eggs.

I sent a picture to a mate of mine who keeps snakes and he said they look very smiliar and we should leave them be.

2 days later, I've never seen so many slugs in one place in my life! And they LOVE! watermelon every inch of it.

Oh well lesson learnt lol!

Back to weather, and it's time for pool beers and BBQ hello sun we have missed you these past few days!

Oh no!! What a shame. Bloody slugs are a nightmare this year, so many of them. We need a cold winter to kill them off! How big were the melons?

Only have the one lol. The other one has been eaten by woodlice! My neighbour on the allotment has just cropped over 20 melons from her 2 plants that are growing outside. Think they're 'Emir' ones. She kindly gave me one to try, smells lovely
