Whilst doing some newspaper research on an entirely different matter I came across this snippet this morning.

HUNDREDS KILLED AND INJURED.

A terrible tornado swept through some of the provinces of Wisconsin. U.S.A., on Tuesday, followed a deluge of rain and the firing of wrecked buildings. Hundreds of persons are estimated have been killed and injured, and destruction of property was of a colossal cbaracter.
