Use the local council sites or the AA/RAC, they're all free and get their information from the same sources.

Yes I know there are various sources.  Google maps, Waze, Highways Agency.

It is just the BBC site is more convenient for accessing the information when travelling across the country from one area to another. Google maps generally only show speed of traffic not the cause of the delay.  The BBC site updates regularly, whereas others don't.

Really poor decision, it's a useful website and is far more worthy than some of the guff the BBC spends money on.

The comments on that link are universally slamming this decision.

It's my go to travel checker. I find it the most accurate by far for my are. I have also used the RAC and AA but find they show up things later than the BBC.

I also like the easy access to the motorway cameras on there too, a great snow hunting tool!

The BBC barely has any football these days! The only domestic stuff it has are a handful of FA Cup games and the Premier League highlights lumped into the graveyard slot.

They probably have 10 live domestic football matches a year, it's not as if it's dominating the airwaves.

No nick, but life stops ever time there's a game on that channel, just saying.

Traffic England is a good site for viewing motorway traffic cameras.
