6.4c is high for early march, I noticed a fair few 17c's around the SE today, 15/16 in many other places, first time out for me in the sunshine in just a tee-shirt but not in shorts...yet!:D More of this sort of weather next week on the cards, could be a very mild march coming up.

My local average for March is surprisingly high when compared to the CET at 6.6°C.

Currently running at 7.2°C here (+0.6), despite a max of only 10.5°C today.

Looking at the 12z GFS run, I estimate we would reach 7.5 by middle of next week, fall back to 7.0 then perhaps slight rises into low 7 towards end of run. Overall not very exciting but it is what it is.

Minimum today is 8.6C, while maxima look lie reaching about 13C, so an increase to 7.5C is likely on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

7.6C to the 13th (8.8: +2.5)
7.8C to the 14th (10.3: +3.7)
8.1C to the 15th (12.4: +5.4) [Record High: 11.9C]
8.2C to the 16th (10.1: +3.2)
8.2C to the 17th (7.2: -0.3)
8.3C to the 18th (9.8: +2.7)
8.2C to the 19th (7.5: +0.9)
8.0C to the 20th (4.4: -2.2)
7.9C to the 21st (5.3: -1.3)

Using all previous daily CET values, at this stage the likely upper and lower bounds for CET at months end are 8.4C ad 6.1C.

All means have shot up this week. Should be above 8 on the month mean by Tuesday.

Not yet at the half way stage, but already bets are off for a below average month - they've been hard to come by since summer 2013.. Alas, we may see the high point by end of next week with at least a gradual cool down thereafter. Quite likely to end up at least 1 degree above norm, good chance 2 degrees above norm..

Big jump there 0.4c, I'm surprised that we are so high already. With 3 more very mild days to come, should be well over 8c by the end of this week although night temps look to be getting a bit cooler as the week goes on.

This month could quite quickly become a contender for warmest March in 37 years of records here if the second half is moderately warm.

Our current mean is 7.8C, which is 2.0C above the rolling 1981-2010 average to the 13th. The warmest March was 1990 with a mean of 8.4C (and 1997 was 2nd warmest at 8.2C), so we're definitely up there.

March 1990 was only 7.7C to the 13th, so we're ahead at the moment.

8.1°C (+1.5) here

Mean min 5.7°C (+1.9

Mean max 10.5°C (+1.1)

Warmest day of the year today with a max of 13.4°C. Yet again a well above average month looks on the cards.

Sunny Sheffield 7C another big bump tomorrow a pause for Friday possibly then more increases. Certainly going to be one of the warmest marches  on record. 8.8C is the record I don't think I'll beat that though.

I don't imagine there have been too many years ahead of that by the 14th, maybe top ten per cent or so?

Will look into it later unless somebody else has the stats and posts them.

As to the future, it probably won't get a lot higher than it will be after today (maybe 8.0?) and will probably fall off a bit for the next week to ten days. So a last week of normal values would probably return things to the high 7s or near 8.

Must be approaching 8c back home for March so far, won't know till I'm back from holiday tomorrow night. My average is 5.8c for March so currently well above, however it does look like it may cool down somewhat and some models even predicting snow for parts of the region into next week.
