According to the radar, it was a direct hit from a shower, but barely a couple of drops fell, it didn't even wet the ground.

Couple of drops here in the last 15mins, but I do mean, a couple!

Now the next shower currently over Swindon, has the makings of something a lot better, if it keeps itself together and doesn't fade like the last few.

Just had hail here for about 5 minutes and now my rain alarm saying rain near by with 100% intensity which I've never heard her say before this could be interesting.

Looked good at around 8pm:

Then it ends up like this:

I hate Northerlies in Winter, this just makes it worse.

Had 4 rumbles of thunder to the west about 4pm, followed by the wind really picking up, a bit like a gust front, but just a sprinkle of rain as most of it went around here. Dropped the temp to 5.3C though with a gust of 35 mph on my station.

Before that, not a bad day though a slight frost to start (min -0.8C). It did feel ok in the sunshine and out of the breeze, max was 11.7C though lots of temp fluctuations as soon as decent sized cloud came over or a shower was near. Had a brief shower with a bit of what was probably soft hail, looked a bit like snow flakes.

A rain shower of 0.4mm about 7pm was the joint highest rainfall amount since the 3rd (0.8mm) and the 1st (10.4mm)

Already down to 1.3C now.

It died a death as the sun dropped, so much so we didn't even get a drop of rain. Typical northerly as you said, does nothing for us even if it's rain. Bah..

More blue clear skies this morning, slight cloud looking north
Still no rain here.
4c at midnight and down to 2c at 5.30am.
Looks like the frost missed us, as hearing some a few miles up the road had a slight hand scrape away on their cars.
Humidity has been 80-90 since 11pm yesterday.

Now 5c, Northerly wind 4mph, 1017.4, 87% humdity

I found it in my pond a few months back. I have since netted most of it to try and stop it, but it keeps returning. threaten.gif

Looks just like the one that raided the ponds around here a few years back. Best way we found was thin wire stretched around the edge and across the pond, less unsightly than netting. In Asia apparently they use dolls placed by the pond to scare them away..

Now will we get more joy from the showers triggered by the Wash, today, looking a bit more hopeful, if they can make it before the heat of the day drops away..
