    Light rain eventually cleared late last evening leaving a mild and mostly cloudy night.  Mostly cloudy this morning, a few brighter spells at first. Light to moderate rain set in around 09:30 GMT continuing intermittently in to the afternoon and early evening.

    The rain arrives at last! 22mm so far today :)

    In contrast, I note a lot of independent weather stations in inland Kent recording 26C, 27C or even 28C right now (see Wunderground). A real localised heatwave! Shame no official stations in the area.

    Overcast and very wet, with around 30mm of rain recorded in this area so far, representing more than we have had in total since mid-March, and showing no sign of stopping yet. The wettest day round here for several months. Maximum 16.7, minimum 14.6. Wind light NW.

    Much the same at the coast, Mrs said it started raining mid morning, and it hasn't stopped all day. Still raining quite hard. To be fair we need the rain.

    First day I have used my waterproofs to keep dry riding to and from station in 2 months.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average.
