15 strikes a minute atm (does seem like the West/Midlands is getting most of it today so far though)

Accordiradar there is a storm just to the north of town, less than 6/7 miles. Have not seen a flash, had a rumble and only had a drop of rain... weird.

Lightning, thunder and torrential rain in Bomere Heath....

Finally I`m out of the NSC!

But for the sake of a few miles... had a bit more heavy rain but nothing exciting. Looks like thats it for the day now as activity moves off north east.

This produced a few strikes just west of Sheffield about an hour ago. I was on a run round Rother Valley at the time so got a nice view of it skirting by.

Gone dark back home in S20 now with a distant rumble out to the SW a few mins ago. Certainly a bit more oomph to these showers today here!

Flights in Manchester are doing their usual random (but controlled) holding patterns as the cell from Chester passes, dark skies to my west here with the rain looking like it'll pass just to the north of my area. No lightning recorded within it just yet though despite the cells to the south over Congleton and Matlock sparking away.

That's it for today in these parts as the instability pushes further E this afternoon.

Time is ticking for a rumble of thunder here in 2017. Surely I won't be waiting until 2018 :shok:
