Everything remotely stormy is breaking up as it reaches me, just some light stuff last time, under what the radar reported as a red echo.

Thanks! Haven't really seen any flashes from it yet (although the worst of it may past to the North of here).

Does seem to be some really impressive convection today

We havent either but some near us on the radar, they're further North like the other day though as always we brew them up

Finally just had the first thunderstorm of the year! Only rained for a short while, but dropped from 19.0C to 14.9C in 10mins and gave us 4.0mm with a max rainrate of 131.0mm/hr.

Lots of thunder though, almost constant for a while.

Just drove from Crystal Peaks near Sheffield through Staveley and on towards Bolsover through a cracking little storm in the last hour. Some nice bolts and booming thunder and torrential rain between Eckington and Staveley

Back in Chesterfield now and nothing much happening at all

Seems to be quiet there now, was hoping it would continue and edge further East. W have some great convention here but nothing overly exicting yet apart from distant rumbles and one or two flashes on the radar not far from us. Hopefully it doesnt blow past us like they usally do this time

@TJS1998Tom

There is some new cells popping up just north of Nottingham that might have your name on it,i am keeping my eye on that Chester cell to see if it does anything.

Fingers crossed, new cells keep popping up recently next to existing ones

Seems the western Peak District can produce the snow but not the storms so-far this year, i've never known anything like it with this area barely getting anything minus a few rumbles from the Manchester area last month.

Recent times have been down to luck or the lack of, there have been sferics in the region just not around this neck of the woods but to hear reports from Ulster of 4 days of thunder out of 5 the last few days. I am struggling to think of something close to that for this area.

Most of the action here is towards the North of us and when they reach the North Sea

Not bad for some today. Although I bet this is just a fraction of what is just beginning to start over S Germany and Switzerland. Could be some dangerous situations over there this evening and tonight.

Not looking hopeful for us now apart from rain, we just brew it up. Hope I'm wrong but might need to wait till the next chance of storms :/

Looks quite impressive from the distance! Sun came out here recently!

Would have to agree with @TJS1998Tom, that when looking at the radar some of the biggest and juiciest stuff does appear to be concentrated to our North. Seems to have been like that for most of the day!

Yeah, the one from Chesterfield as it started to push Eastwards looked so promising, but we're just getting rain
