Just found this cobbled together newsreel of footage from 2013 Spring in Northern Ireland, I certainly don't remember being this bad in the mainland. Is there any reason it was so much worse over in Northern Ireland?

It was fairly bad here in the pennines but not as bad as Northern Ireland.Wales and Cumbria was on a par with Northern Ireland with snow accumulations but I guess there are more remote regions In Northern Ireland. The reason that Sheep farmers were particularly hit was because March is the time of Lambing for many and such snowfalls are not expected at that time of year or are mistakenly forgot.I do remember Sheep farmers being hit bad in March 1979 and April 1981 but to put into context 4 million sheep were lost in 1947.
