Well the heaviest one day snow event 7 inches level snow, only seen falling/lying snow 3 times in 27 years,09/10 longer low temps and lying snow, but 10 took 3 days to get to the same level as one day this time out.

So an apology.....looked in here a lot last year, didnt post much, made the mistake of thinking it was a bit close knit...how wrong...its been a great forum to be part of,really enjoyed it.

I use Netweather most days, being blonde and fair skinned and out in it every day, real heat doesn't work for me as one sunstroke and two heatstrokes will testify lol....so in the words of the Two Ronnies..its not goodbye from me.....but thank you all.

A balmy 10.1c here today,  all the snow rather depressingly disappearing too quickly.

My dog and I decided to try and find a last bit of snow to enjoy on his afternoon walk. :)

What a difference two days makes. After the earlier downpours moved through, it's been a lovely afternoon with some sunshine that actually felt warm, a temperature that soared to 9C and cbs have been seen. I also notice some sferics in the channel. Hopefully the start of a convective spring.

Does anyone also see a bit of snow left and just have to walk on it just to feel it as you walk on it. Or is it just me?

Went to go shopping today. Tried Morrisons first.. zilch on the shelves.. Tesco much the same; thank god for Waitrose! Which makes me wonder what on Earth it would be like if we had more than a one day blizzard! We wouldn’t cope ?

This squall line was immense. Heaviest hail stone shower I've ever seen

Still lots of snow drifts round here despite the thaw

Extremely quiet over in the model thread lately! Not surprising I guess given no clear pattern showing up with lots of low pressure systems meandering around.

One thing that does seem to be a theme is a fairly deep LP system hitting us over next weekend but track and positioning varies between the models.

That squall line has just passed through here, brief but torrential rain.  Only minuscule amounts of snow left in back garden from the deepest of the drifts.  That will probably be gone before bedtime.  Temperature got up to the dizzy heights of +11.2°C this afternoon.

It's just a band of showery rain, not a squall line. :)

It passed through here, but only moderate rain. It is moving pretty fast as well, just 0.4mm falling.
