Snow overnight on the A53 Leek road higher up, photo taken by a driver going from Leek to Hope cement works.

Slush and light snow reported at lower levels around Ashbourne, Leek, Buxton etc and at 1200 ft plenty of snow has been reported in the peak district.

Light rain cleared away last night. A few clear spells developing at times through the early hours, a touch of ground frost detected. Bright spells at first this morning, cloud increasing from the east. Light to moderate showery rain set in after mid morning, continuing through the afternoon and in to the evening, feeling cold and raw.
