Light rain at dawn coincided with the day's high of 8.4C. Slowly cleared into the afternoon as temperatures eased. Now dropping more quickly. 3.1C. Feels pretty chilly with a 15mph wind.  Showers on the Pennines are turning to snow and it feels cold enough that we might catch one lower down as winter finally arrives.

Partly cloudy with sunshine in the afternoon then around 5.30pm it started raining heavy for a few minutes with the gust of 53mph being recorded. It's now a cold Northerly wind but hasn't brought any wintry weather yet.
