Light shower passing through, first rain for some time. Its been an exceptionally dry spring, on the back of that exceptionally wet February! The spring we take water from has now dried up, something it didn't do in 2018. Hoping for decent rain soon, then it can go back to dry and sunny, I've enjoyed the novelty!

Some useful rain expected overnight, Friday and into Saturday currently forecast to bring quite a bit of further long lasting rain as well. Inbetween chance of a few showers.

About 5mm so far here, which is a start, but plenty more is needed. This is my local park yesterday evening:

Yes, I don't often say it, but I cheered the steady rain which greeted me this morning in South Cheshire!

Yes it was nice opening the curtains to overcast skies and dampness instead of the usual bright and sunny skies we have got so used to. Wonder how long it will be before we get fed up of it and start moaning about the rain again! ☔

Some rain here overnight, but nothing significant which is what is needed at the moment.

Looks like a slight chance of a shower over the next day or 2 before a greater chance of some rain friday night into saturday before it seems to dry up again.

Forecast

Looked at the rainfall radar from last night and the shadow effect was really in play for this part of the NW.

Mods

Time for a fresh thread? This is 200 pages long now and the title says 30th January 2019 onwards...

Been thinking that for a while actually.

What a change with some much needed rain this morning. Looking cool/below average & unsettled in the near term. Possibly tentative signs of an improvement towards mid month on the temperature front?
