Hi. I'm Linda and I am booked to go on Tour 5.  New to all this so as you can imagine I'm getting quite excited now.  Thanks to Crashlanding as its given me some idea of things to take etc.

Yes just realised there is no Tour 5 starting topic so thanks for starting it Linda. This is the Photography Tour which runs from June 19th to June 30th

Re batteries in checked baggage, see this link:

They won't allow Li-ion batteries in checked bags because of the fire risk - should be carried in your hand luggage. I've not had any issues in taking numerous batteries in hand luggage. I think I had 9 or 10 (inc my laptop battery) in my hand luggage from my T2 trip and was didn't face any issues.
