yWe are doing this briefing tonight because if things go bad as early as the potentially could , we may not have time to do this in the morning.  It could be a bad day for Oklahoma.  There will be a chance for significant tornadoes in Oklahoma

Not sure I've ever seen a high risk in the short time I've followed these forecasts. Will be watching with interest tonight! Good luck out there.

Quite a wide swath with a tornado risk so that should spread storm chasers out and reduce chaser convergence. The strong upper level shear means tornadoes could move rapidly.

Indeed. The El-Reno beast caught loads of chasers off guard as it accelerated South at 55mph, and most of us here are aware of that fateful day. I hope everyone stays safe.

Probably the radar most useful later for those that dont subscribe to higher level stuff.

The problem with El Reno was traffic jams of escaping population, a tornado that didnt want to go in a straight line, and too many reports to process in a very short space of time.

At least with the Moore one, it travelled basically in a straight line, with very good helicopter coverage, giving the local populace good information.

Chase safe later those out there planning to chase this high-end severe weather risk.

Bit concerned for Oklahoma City Metro and towns west along I-40 towards Texas border from 3pm this afternoon, this is the 6th anniversary of the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma EF5 tornado spookily. HRRR showing supercells with high sig. tornado parameters in association with warm front lifting north through Oklahoma later. Also the dryline along with warm front/dryline triple point area of east Texas Panhandle / western Oklahoma could see some nasty supercells spawning strong long-tracked tornadoes.

I was out there chasing in 2004 when a high risk went up, followed by a PDS.  It's incredibly exciting but you do find yourself getting nervous.

Stay safe everyone and looking forward the chase account tomorrow

The latest SPCC (13z) extends the high threat area and now pulls in Oklahoma City and the surrounds.

Will be tuning in, once I’m done at work. Getting interesting now. Already a couple of supercells firing away at just 8 in the morning!

NWx not streaming this year. Best try something like https://livestormchasing.com/map but on PC as the mobile site is rubbish.

Or tune in to local TV online (KFOR for OKC) - they always break into weather when severe is confirmed or highly likely.

I’ll be streaming on this year’s tour but I’m five days late for this event - that said, something tells me early next week could see a similar higher end event.
