According to a family source, last Friday night was the coldest ever in the Durban area at 9C, and the night was below freezing in Jo'burg, although I have no stats to back this up.

My sister in Durban informs me that the temperature dropped from 31C yesterday to 10C this morning and then down to 6C later in the day, the lowest she's encountered in 17 years on the coast. Apparently snowing inland!
