Never thought i would see the temperatures achieved today in the region in my lifetime, but it looks like we have cracked 100 F in places which is pretty insane.

Would be a shame not to get a storm to break it down.

Temperature has suddenly started to drop in the last hour here in Darlo as we begin to draw in the airflow from the north west

Should find by dawn we'll be in the fresher flow of air.

24c at 1130 last night and still very warm. Woke up to 17c and the feel of fresher air. Feels so good.

If someone had told me we would be getting record breaking temperature's towards 40 degree's but no storm or rain afterwards I'd of never believed them.  Its the equivalent of getting really cold air but no snow in winter.

What was the deal with that yellow warning for Thunderstorms yesterday? Were the MetO trolling us? Could really do with some considerable rainfall around these parts.

Aye strange warning. Air was too dry for any meaningful convection to get going. Disappointed we never saw the heatwave out with a bang but nevermind. Could definitely do with some rain. Grass around here is all going brown

Just had to put a woolly on. Steel grey skies and a max of 17c is a bit of a shock to the system.

We were upto 19c here about dinnertime. Felt rather pleasant with some sun poking through the cloud. Very little breeze. Quite a nice day tbh.

Should be some rain/drizzle around overnight and tomorrow before a slight warm up at the weekend.

Some much needed rain last night and some heavy showers currently working their way across the north east now delivering more much needed rain. Still been a very humid day

More heavy/torrential rain moving across the region this afternoon after quite a lovely morning. Virtually no rain through most of July. It's definitely making up for it these last couple of days

We had some family staying at the weekend, from East Anglia (one from Cambs, the others from Norfolk). They all said "It's so GREEN up here!".

Greener still here. I was in the NE the weekend before last and I noted how browner it was the further east I went. Lush deep green here.

Aye it's greened up loads over the past week and half/2 weeks. Before that it was very very brown in my garden. It's amazing how quick the grass greens up after a few days of rain.

25.3 here at the moment, a blessed relief from yesterday. We are about 12 miles from the coast and woke up to think mist and sea fog(not something I remember in August in previous years). We could do with some rain but at the present I do not see much coming.
