Just realised I have no means of heating or cooking if there’s a power cut. My heating from oil and back boiler stove requires electric pump to circulate and I don’t have any gas/camping stove equipment.

It'll be mayhem on the roads tomorrow morning if they don't upgrade to red! As most of you have said, a vast majority of the public still think this is just going to be a run of the mill storm!

ForeverPomeroysnow I’m on another car forum and there’s someone on there just replied to me and said it’s find.

I reminded him of the cork stadium during the last red storm 5 or 6 years ago.

ForeverPomeroysnow get plenty of breakfast cereals and milk, crisps, water. Wrap yourself in a duvet 🙂

we’ve loads of those battery candles from Christmas if a power outage goes into hours of darkness.

To all the NW members in Ireland from a NW member in Wales - hope you all stay safe tomorrow and that the storm passes without causing you any harm.  We’re all used to windy weather in the west but this one seems to be a potential record breaker.  I only lost a couple of small trees and bit of my lean-to roof to Darragh which is nothing when compared to others around here.  Only advice I can give you from my own experience is do NOT attempt to go outside at the height of the storm to attempt any repairs or prevent further damage - wait until the wind drops!  🤞🤞

ForeverPomeroysnow  the bmw is still lying with a broken hub but I’ll sell it once it’s fixed 🤣 I only bought it for £1200 to do me and probably spent that on it again fixing it up but I found a bit of flaky wiring loom so it’s time to get rid. Explains some of the funky electric gremlins it gets the odd time.

There’s a message out from my wee boys school saying they are waiting on confirmation from the education department on whether to close or not.

Hi,

All schools have been closed for tomorrow.

We have just received the instruction from the Education Authority that, due to a severe weather warning, ALL schools in Northern Ireland are to close tomorrow, Friday 24th January.

Stay safe.

No word from my work but I’m off anyway. During storm Darragh I could see the tin roof lifting away from the steel girders and a gap form between them. Our work roof is noisy even in normal wind.

I work for Halfords and there’s been no mention on the group chat. But I’m off so maybe it’s being discussed in store.
