Half of Carrick has no power since 7am (I’m in the other half but big big dips)

Decent covering of snow here this morning, certainly a lot calmer than yesterday's  craic!

Still no power here. Unbelievable amount of trees down locally.

Damage around the island was immense, trees, roofs, walls, and anything else that can be moved. Felt sales come Monday will be through the roof, bad taste if you lost a shed🤣

The car dealer I collected my car from today had no electric or internet which was a pity because I wanted to put part of deposit on a credit card to help the sting🤣 and some protection. No card machine meant the wages took a smashing instead 🤣 I did feel sorry for his wife she was in a dry robe and hat when she answered the door.

There’s still plenty of houses in Limavady without electric. There’s at least 3 or 4 lines I could see down on Friday. I didn’t see any fibre lines down but they’re so easily damaged anyway.

We got off light with only loosing power a few minutes but our supply is underground from a substation I can see that regularly sits in water 🤣

loads of trees down everywhere and plenty been left leaning. There’s also a tree I’ve been watching for nearly 10 years. Every winter it leans over north but then it grows towards the south and is almost straight again by autumn. I’ve been expecting it to fall every winter but it hangs on

Glad every body got through Éowyn relatively unscathed. This storm tonight, though not that strong in the North, could finish off things that were weakened by Éowyn. So, more dangerous than it would be as a standalone storm.

Hope you guys up North were ok. Only got power back this afternoon. Was a rough few days with dodgy mobile signal. As much as it pains me to say it Supermacs came out of it all as stars as they had a generator going and let people charge batteries up.

Could have done without the snow yesterday house was baltic with no heating.

So power back up but well isn't pumping so no hot bath for Jules tonight. Wet wipe wash again grrr.

gman144 Just looking out the window to see the clouds travelling in the opposite direction to normal,  so the Easterly has arrived.

Unfortunately,  this Easterly is a bit tepid with no bitter cold over the continent to bring deep cold.

We're at least 10 to 12 days away from anything decent and it might never arrive of course.

Hearing rumours of a storm system incoming? Any of the system checkers know? Wind then snow

Ever Hopeful I've looked at ECM and GFS just there, they are predicting that the European high pressure is going to keep any Atlantic storm incursions at bay, so I don't know where those rumours are coming from.

There is talk among some lads that understand teleconnections etc, that there is a probability of an Italian/med low that could prop up the high properly into Scandi, but as MS said above, no deep pool of cold to tap into currently.

A little bit of wintery precipitation today, some hail and very wet sleet in Dublin in the heavier downpours. And it was +3 degrees. A chance if something falls tonight!

Wow, just went onto meteociel to have a gander at the charts. I did not expect that!!! Looking decidedly good for us snow starved Dubliners in 8/10 days! I'll believe it when I see it, but I didn't force a cold enough pool developing or the low to undercut! All to play for now!

Never had a wind direction have as many titles, beast, cold but not enough for snow etc. Bit of snow to create a bit of travel chaos is always welcome, continue to smash the shield rocheydub.
