Persistent rain earlier in the evening has steadily turned to sleet as the might progressed

Well the overnight rain with a low of 1.6 C has now turned to moderate snow, temperature 0.6 C and almost total cover after 18.6 mm of rain! Very little depth of course but about 95% cover.

It's been snowing lightly to moderately here for 3 hours in the Vale of York. 1-2cm has been enough to make local roads dodgy as they don't seem to have gritted. Mrs A's school in W.Yorks has closed after local staff got in and reported slippery roads, too.  0.4C.

M62 is down to one lane at Junction 26 but it actually looks better over the top of the Pennines where it has probably not been snowing as long.

Sleet turned to Snow which is now heavy again after a slight breather an hour ago. 5cm depth

Temp 0.3C max 2C, Barometer 1016mb, Wind Calm, Rainfall since midnight 7.4mm however a lot of unmelted snow

Quite tropical this morning in West Oxon at 9c although temp is starting to dip now. Just look at these the temp differences between here and the midlands! Dont suppose there will any snowflakes for us today lol

Measured 5 cm here as went out to try and save some of the bushes and shrubs weighed down with so much pretty wet snow, one or two look not very well!

Snow since nine this morning. A very cold last time I measured around 5cm of snow. Snow still falling,

Rain overnight turned to snow before sunrise,some heavier snow with large flakes turning to fine lighter snow much of the day,drier later.Snowcover 2 1/2 inch

Another dull day (we've had quite a few recently) with rain all morning then patchy drizzle in the afternoon and the temperature falling fast during the day. Maximum 10.3 (early morning), minimum 3.9 (this evening). Wind light N.
