Chance would be a fine thing.  Got in the shower this morning - no hot water  Engineer given code and says its a blocked pipe - sounds painful  Boiler only 2 years old so under warranty.  Anyhow he’ll be here shortly to rectify it.  Okay for heat as I use the multi fuel burner every day when needed.

Isn't it time we had a 'have-you-turned-on-your-A/C-yet?' thread? @markyo would be posting 365 days a year!😁

My thinking is we will have a thread like this in the next 10 years!

I ran mine for an hour 2 weeks back. I like to move the water round in the radiators.

Even at this present time, it seems like a lifetime away before I even consider this.

We rarely make it past late September, before we start using the heating gradually, so I think sometime around or after the 20th.

Oh I normally turn the boiler radiator temp right down in Spring and then periodically run the heating to move the water round.

Whilst my old house has been a little on the cool side over the last few days, I haven't been finding it cool enough to have the heating on just yet. Wearing extra layers of clothing and awakening my trustee electric blanket out of hibernation has been doing the trick.

Lit my log burner Thurs/Fri evening for an hour or two, just burnt a few off cuts and scrap wood, took the chill off nicely!

Yeah, I turned it on briefly for about 20 minutes on Friday evening and yesterday evening. Just to take the chill out.

Will probably wait for another couple of weeks before we start needing it on for several hours a day.

Once the daytime temps start dropping below 16c, the flat will be cold enough to need the heating on more frequently.

Had the log burner on last night, lovely I’m gonna try and only use that this winter my wife and kids will hate it as they hate getting in cold beds but I find nothing better. Snuggle up

Had it on for an hour yesterday as house felt damp after plasterers had been. Fire has been on in sitting room since Tuesday and I reckon that'll be it on for the foreseeable. Makes a huge difference even with a wee fire for a few hours. 🔥

Yep, it'll soon be time for me to get the warmer duvet looked out, along with the fluffy thermal sheets and the electric blanket. I do like my comforts!
