Already on S, and this one has quite a wide field of play in its forward progress.

It will definitely become a major hurricane, whether this affects the Leewards, or Bermuda.....

Or indeed takes the Southern lean and hits Florida!!

Long way off, but the models [GFS/ECM] currently indicate that Sam will have Bermuda very much in it's cross hairs.

Now Category 3 and deepening. Could even be a 4 already.

Bermuda and the Canadian Maritimes once more at risk of impact.

A couple of hundred miles south and it could be a bit breezy here too.

It's an interesting one, because it could get caught in the Jet stream , in which case it's likely to go up the Irish Channel, OR it could disrupt the jet. Currently the suggestion is for the former..

His about this then...NOAa have a Saildrone in the middle of Sam sending footage of the ocean with 50 foot waves being created.

NOAA and Saildrone are collecting scientific data from inside Hurricane Sam.

Sam has an incredible eye structure...

Also very strong for this far North.

It is an interesting one, and cant fail to affect the North Atlantic weather systems.

The reason for the cut off graphic is that the NOAA computer cant generate wind field graphics above a 60N or 10W as we discovered when Ophelia struck a few years ago.

Although ex-Sam heads closer to Iceland, it's frontal bands could bring heavy rain to Scotland (particularly the west) and Northern Ireland. Some discrepancies between the models. It will also help to steer warm aflow up over the UK later this week with day temps back into the high teens, perhaps low 20sC and very mild nights. HIgh pressure from Russia reaching way west over Europe feeding the warmer air. https://www.netweather.tv/weather-forecasts/news/11118-a-roller-coaster-week-of-wind-and-heavy-rain-before-ex-hurricane-sam-helps-steer-warmth-our-way
