Ministers will relax regulation of gene-edited crops to allow their commercial growing in England.

Personally, I have no problem with the idea.

Personally, I have no problem with the idea.

I don't have a problem per se if this improves crop resistance to disease. However I do think this is the thin edge of the wedge and we will see a lot more 'relaxation' of regulation in the name of improving business and no doubt over time weakening safety.

I'd like to see a GE'd solanum that had both edible fruits and tubers; but I don't know what to call it!
